Some of my Favorite Beauty Products

My favorite Beauty Products

I love Weleda products, especially their showergels and Skin Food.

My haircare products are all from Aveda. Since I stopped using shampoos and conditioners with silicon my hair is healthier, this silicons dry out your hair like crazy!

I have a lot of nail polishes, the ones I use the most at the moment are Frenzy and Black Satin from Chanel.

Crème de Rose from Dior is so good, I love it, I always feel like Carrie, when I put it on.... do you remember Carrie putting on lip gloss with her fingers? Maybe it's just me.... but somehow, this feels very "Carrie" to me.

My favorite body scrub is from Lush, Ocean Salt, I love it!

The face oil from Rodin Olio Lusso is pure magic! If you are in your twenties you probably don't need it, but after that it's simply pure magic!

Tam Dao and Philosykos from Dyptique are two of my favorite scents. I love to layer them, this way I can create my own scent, love it! If you live in Switzerland you can get them in Zürich at Parfümerie Osswald, you can order them over the phone and pay with credit card.

Blush and eye shadows are by Bobbie Brown, love her products since many years.

All this products might also be a good Christmas present ;-)

I'd love to hear what your favorite beauty products are!

Print Mixing

Print Mixing

Print mixing can be tricky, I'm normally not very adventurous in this field. But when I browsed trough j crew the other day I came across these pants and sweater and fell in love. I think the trick is to keep the rest minimal and classic.

Sweater, pants and bag j crew. Blazer Alexander Wang, boots Acne, Ring Maison Martin Margiela, Ray Bans Wayfarer and Chanel Black Satin.

J crew still has this promotion going on with free shipping, free returns and duty free shopping worldwide until end of December, but the pants are not available anymore at jcrew but you find them at net-a-porter, click the link above.

Current Favorites

Loving my Spektre sunglasses and my new cashmere plaid scarf from Codello I bought at Globus the other day.

The cashmere scarf comes in beige, grey and red and I'm so happy with the red one, the color red really makes my skin glow! Quite convenient these days ;-)

The cashmere scarf is available at Globus for all you "Swissies". At the online store from Codello you find a similar style here, it's not cashmere though.

Zara also has a plaid scarf here.

Wishing you all a pleasant Monday!

MMM x H&M

I went a little crazy at H&M the other day! Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw, that so many pieces where still available at the store! The 15th I couldn't be there and I thought, that all will be gone, but well..... lucky me that I live in a town where obviously not many people know what beautiful and fun designs Maison Martin Margiela creates.

I'm totally in love with all the pieces I got: Trompe d'Oeil Tattoo Top, Darted Sweater, Sock Sweater, Watch Belt and Bracelet.

What did you get from this collection?

For my little angel

The last couple of days have been very stressful. I was in hospital with my youngest daughter for the last 10 days. She was really ill, had very high fever and they treated her as a Kawasaki Syndrome, which basically is a inflammation of the vessels. She had fever over 40 degrees C for over 8 days, it was a nightmare! Being a doctor myself didn't really help to calm me down. When you know too much it's not so good....

We are home again and she is almost back to her normal self, but somehow I'm not the same person anymore. I can't go straight back to posting about fashion, somehow fashion is not on my mind, all my thoughts are about my daughters and the really important things in life, like Love, family, friendship. Life can be over in a blink and we should really live like it could be over any time! The love for my daughters and my husband is the most powerful feeling and coming just a little close to the horror of loosing one of my angels has changed me deep inside.

I will be back to posting soon about fashion but for now I simply can't.... here are some words I wrote for my daughter a while ago. The picture of her is from last summer during our holidays in the South of France.

You were written in the stars
With every inch of my soul I'm in Love
You are my little angel
I love you more than the most beautiful
words can ever tell you
I will be there for you when you need me
I will let you go when you want me to
I love you to the moon and back
a million times and more

It's how you lay your little hand on my shoulder
It's how you touch my face and smile at me
Its how you do your little sweet sounds when waking up next to me
It's how you move your hands when your excited
It's how you do your special sound while exploring things thoroughly
Its how you lay your head on my shoulder and hold tight to me when your tired
It's how you talk your sweet sounds now while I write this
It's how your eyes twinkle like the little star when you look at me
It's how you smile at me and the world
It's everything about you
I love you to the sun and back a million times and more

Burgundy Church's Brogues

So these are my new burgundy brogues from Church's! I love love love them and will wear them for ever, so happy with my choice. It's quite a risk to buy such a thing online, I actually prefer to touch and see what I buy first, but well, with "free returns" I just couldn't resist.

I'm sorry about the instagram pictures, next big investment.... a camera!

What camera are you using?

We will hopefully be able to move to our new house next spring. So I'm already starting to look out for interior design inspiration. On Pinterest I got a board full of ideas, you can have a look here.

It's so exciting and I'm so much looking foreward to move to the new place. It's actually just around the corner, well almost, but it will be bigger and we will have a huge garden! I couldn't be happier!

Grace Coddington A Memoir

Via: amazon.com

I just preordered the book here.

I'm sure many of you remember Grace Coddington, Creative Director at Vogue, from "The September issue", in 2009.

"I’m not telling secret stories, I'm not writing ugly bad things to get back at anyone. This book’s not gossipy. It’s more a record. I’ve kept a diary since I was a tiny kid trying to find my way, and going through all my written records reminds me of shoots and jogs my memory."

That is what Grace says about her book. Can't wait to read it!

"Let The Sunshine In"

Let The Sunshine In

I can't get this track out of my head today, heard it on the radio this morning and it sticks with me, "Let The Sunshine In" from the musical Hair.

"Leeeeeeet the sun shine, leeeet the sun shine in, the sun shine in"..... love this song!

As I was born in the Seventies, I am a true "Hippie kid", I still got old records from the Stones and Led Zeppelin, but I can't play them anymore, cause well.... no device for doing so in my house anymore.... should change that!

What music do you like?

Ah well, this is an outfit post after all..... almost forgot..... Yellow Jeans by Current Elliot, Cashmere Sweater by JCrew, Boots by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Clutch by Matthew Williamson, Sunnies by Illesteva, Coat by Philosophy di Alberta Ferreti, Ring by Pamela Love, Chanel Peridot nailcolor, all available at net-a-porter (except the nail polish of course)

So, let this be our motto for this week end, "let the sunshine in"! Where ever you are, especially for all people having a hard time right now, let's hope that the sun will shine for you again!

Burgundy Dress

Burgundy Dress

Oh my! I'm having a thing with this Rag&Bone hat today! I love it! I'm at home, feeling unwell, but somehow blogging makes my cold and aching bones being more bearable, so I'm posting instead of taking aspirine.

Dress by T by Alexander Wang, Pistol boots Acne, Denim Jacket Mango, Bag 3.1 Phillip Lim, Bracelet Aurélie Bidermann, Scarf by Alexander McQueen, Scent by Tom Ford and the tight are from Falke, I think they really make good quality tights.

Blogger Style

Garance Doré inspired

By now you might have noticed, that I adore Garance Doré. I love her style and her blog a lot.

Some days ago, I pinned a picture of her, where you can see her multitasking, so cool! Although I think smoking is not very cool, but hey I'm not judging people for that, in France they would say "Vivre et laisser vivre!".... and I'm not allowed to judge anyway, because I used to smoke too, stopped six years ago, yay!

The denim shirt above is from Eddie Bauer, the hat is by Rag&Bone, the shoes and the bag are from Mulberry and the camera is the one Garance is using I think, but I'm not sure....

Does anyone know what camera she uses? I'm trying to find out what camera I should buy..... any tips? What camera are you using?

Mens Ware Inspiration

Brogues

He, he.... I ordered myself something beautiful! Can you guess what?

It's the Church's Brogues in Burgundy! Can't wait to get them!

Which look would you prefer, the more polished or the casual one?

I think I will go for the casual one with boyfriend jeans from JBrand. The hat is from Rag&Bone, Sunnies by Spektre, T shirt by Helmut Lang, Coat by Helmut Lang. Satchel bags found through Polyvore.

Spektre Sunglasses

Yesterday I finally got my Spektre sunglasses I ordered a while ago. But hey, they are totally worth the long wait! They are red mirrored sunglasses and I actually got inspired or totally stole the look from Garance Doré

I love them a lot and if you want to join in on this trend, you can order them here.

And yes... this is my hand and my iphone, the shadow I mean.... any suggestions for a decent camera? I'm still a blogger without a decent camera, so this has to be changed soon!

Talking about Akris

Via: style.com

While preparing yesterdays post, I had an other look at the Fall Ready To Wear Collection of Akris (showed you the link to their Spring 2013 collection yesterday).

This looks above are my favorites from their 2012 Fall Collection, you can see the whole collection here.

I love the color palette and the minimalist chic! The Akris woman looks strong, beautiful and intelligent to me and once again it becomes clear that real sexyness does not include showing much skin!

I'd love, love, love to wear all this looks!

Akris 90th Birthday

Akris_Book_Cover

This year the Swiss family owned fashion house Akris celebrates it's 90th Birthday.

Valerie Steel shows us the rich heritage of the family owned fashion house in a book that's now available here.

„It is modern to create a style that is simultaneously feminine and strong. The streamlined look of Akris fashion is designed to enhance the body, not to restrict it, and also to provide psychological strength and energy through a feeling of effortless just-rightness. This is fashion for the individual, modern woman.“ (Valerie Steele in "Akris", Assouline 2012).

Akris was founded in 1922. The house stands for fashion with clear lines and relaxed elegance. Creative Director is Albert Kriemler. You can see their latest collection here.

From the 7th until the 10th November there will be the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Days in Zürich.

Swiss designers presenting their work there. One of them is Kazu Huggler. Born in Tokyo to a Japanese mother and a Swiss father, Kazu was raised in both Japan and Switzerland.

I adore her work. The japanese influence being a strong part but never overtaking her collections. I love the feminity of her dresses, they got a fantastic sillouette and the prints are absolutely stunning! I'd love to wear these looks above, they are my favorites, you can see her whole collection here.

Miu Miu Wool-blend Brocade Coat

Purple Rain

A week ago I saw this Miu Miu coat up close while wandering trough Zürich. I can tell you, it's really gorgeous!

The coat was presented together with the matching pants, wool-blend brocade. They might look great together, but I couldn't see myself wearing them at the same time, I think I would look like a clown.

So, how to style a statment coat like this?

Bold colors, no prints, diva sunglasses, statment ring and some heels with a twist:

Top by Vivienne Westwood, Pants by Oscar de la Renta, Sunglasses by Yves Saint Laurent, Ring by Kenneth Jay Lane, Clutch by Anya Hindmarch, Heels by Yves Saint Laurent, all availabe at, well yes you were guessing right.... net-a-porter ;-)

Casual Leopard

Casual Leopard

For me this is the most perfect grey knit! It's from 3.1 Phillip Lim and you can get it at matchesfashion.com.

Jeans JBrand, Boots Acne, Bag Proenza Schouler, Sunnies Alexander Wang, Beanie Eugenia Kim Felix, Coat Isabel Marant, Ring Pippa Small, "I've got nothing to wear" notebook from Smythson. All available at net-a-porter.

Marni Head to Toe

Marni Head to Toe

I'm in a "Marni kind of mood" right now.....

Did you know, that Consuelo Castiglioni is part Chilean and was raised in the Italian Part of Switzerland, in a town called Lugano?

Lugano is a little and very relaxed town in the South Part of Switzerland. Everyone is talking Italian there.

Yes, we talk more than one language in our little country, actually we have four languages here, French, Swiss German, Italian and Rumantsch, never herd of Rumantsch? Go google it, it's a beautiful language.

Cozy

Cozy

Today we woke up to a snow fairy land! Everyone was so excited, we went outside to build a snowman, we had so much fun! But it was very cold!

Now we snuggle up inside and I feel like drinking hot chocolate, eating cupcakes, wearing a fancy pajama from Equipment, painting my nails golden and reading a book, smelling a scented candle! Mmmmmmh..... so cozy!

Summer Down Under

Summer in Oz

It's snowing outside! So romantic, I love it!

But on the other side of the world spring is in full bloom! Just made a long phone call to one of my best friends down under, miss her a lot! So gorgeous.... this outfit is for you! Don't forget the sunscreen!

Pants by J Crew, top by Haute Hippie, Heels by Christian Louboutin, sunnies by Cutler and Gross, hat by Etro, bracelet by Mulberry, bag by Reed Krakoff, all available at net-a-porter, the fun necklace is from Karma Living Diameters, you can get it at modcloth.com
